CHRISTMAS TEAS AND PARTIES

Tis the season to .... party. Last week I went to two teas and one party. I love this time of year! Here are some pictures of the events.

The first tea was at Sue's home last Friday. She is anothe
r aide at my school and she invited the part-time staff over for lunch/tea. She doesn't work on Fridays and so spent the morning preparing goodies for us. We had three kinds of sandwiches, two quiches, two kinds of salads, hot artichoke dip, scones with lemon crude, jam, and Devonshire cream And then! .... there was dessert, too.

Here we are waiting to load up on the food.

And this is how she had her table set for us. There were 8 of us. Two could not make it.

Here is a closeup of the table setting.

The next tea was Saturday at the Noble House in Fullerton. This was their indoor Winter Tea and again Peggy and Ellen joined me. Our server took the following picture.

Here are some other ladies enjoying their tea by the fireplace. Everything was decorated for Christmas. The theme was Winter White Christmas Tea.

These two young people are always servers at these events.

Now for the final party of the past week. This was my former Sunday School classes annual party. It was held at a home that is stunning and was a pot luck Christmas dinner. We had everything one would have at a Christmas dinner. Below is a picture of my plate of food.

Those that wanted to, participated in a gift exchange, mostly $10 gift cards. I got a gift card to Starbucks and put it in a bright red coffee cup and wrapped it up real pretty. I won for prettiest wrapped gift. We took numbers and picked a gift from the pile or stole from someone else. I kept getting my cards stolen. I finally picked a See's candy certificate (good for a one pound box, thank you very much). The third time a gift is stolen it's yours and this was the third time so I got to keep it!!!

And finally there was, of course, dessert. I have just about reached my limit on abundance of food, candy, and sweets. No wonder I have trouble losing weight!!!

So what's coming up this week? More food of course. Tuesday I go with Carol to a Senior lunch, a health talk and then watching the movie Polar Express all of which is
sponsored by and held at a hospital. Wednesday is our class Christmas Party and then the teacher/staff Christmas luncheon. Finally on Thursday we start our two week vacation. Very weird schedule this year. We get our two weeks off but it starts the middle of a week and ends the middle of a week, back to work on Thursday, Jan. 5.

So I will have more pictures of this coming week including what I baked to give away to neighbors.
